Developer/CTA Interview
Ronnie Lott
Founder and Chairman of All Stars Helping Kids
Interview Date: August, 2011
Interviewed by John F. Gallwas - Founder of Striker Securities
Ronnie Lott, a 2000 inductee into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, will be the keynote speaker at CTA Expo in Chicago on September 13, 2011. He will speak on what he learned in professional football than has helped him achieve success in the business world.

Ronnie Lott's legendary career included four Super Bowl titles and 10 Pro-Bowl appearances. He retired from professional football in 1994 after having played 10 seasons with the 49ers, plus additional years with the Oakland Raiders and New York Jets. Using the lessons the learned in professional sports, Ronnie built a successful career in business, including running a fund of funds with over $2B under management. He also is the founder of "All Stars Helping Kids", which supports disadvantaged youth throughout the nation.
John Gallwas: What are the key lessons you learned from professional sports that you found helpful in your business career?

Ronnie Lott: Learning how to lose, how to deal with adversity, and how to persevere. Each time you face a challenge you're going to find ways to deal with setbacks. In those cases there are many lessons about how to change momentum, change the team and the mindset, and how to recognize the positive things you can do while you're losing.

John Gallwas: Which of these lessons do you believe still apply today's business environment?

Ronnie Lott: Dealing with setbacks and taking steps to learn from each one in the moment. Each time you face a challenge you will learn how to reevaluate the situation and break it down. Even though the business environment seems to be getting better you still have to be mindful of the blind spots and be mindful of how rapidly things are changing. You have to be patient as well, and realize that the world is not going to be like it was in the early 2000s.

John Gallwas: As most of the September CTA Expo attendees are participants in the financial services industry, in view of your experience in running a managed fund organization, what will be the key points in your September presentation in Chicago?

Ronnie Lott: I think the key points are, 1: realizing that you have got to take it one yard at a time, 2: making sure that as you look at adversity you still celebrate the small wins, and 3: exhaust everything that you can exhaust, in each aspect of your life.

John Gallwas: "All Stars Helping Kids" as been named the official charity of CTA Expo. Tell us the highlights of the program and why our readers should consider making a donation.

Ronnie Lott: In 1989, I founded All Stars Helping Kids with the passionate belief in changing the lives of kids in the San Francisco Bay Area. Since then, All Stars has grown into a national movement that promotes a safe, healthy and rigorous learning environment for disadvantaged children in low-income communities. We devote our time and resources to grantmaking as well as three in-house programs: Career Incubator, Winning Play$, and Sponsor A Class. Our team approach to philanthropy pools the resources of athletes, corporations and individuals to provide financial and technical assistance to high-quality academic and physical enrichment programs working with disadvantaged children. By supporting All Stars you will open doors, inspire minds, and shape opportunities for our next generation of leaders.

There is a risk of loss in trading. It is the nature of commodity and securities trading that where there is the opportunity for profit, there is also the risk of loss. Commodity trading involves a certain degree of risk, and may not be suitable for all investors. Derivative transactions, including futures, are complex and carry the risk of substantial losses. Past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results. Please read additional risk matters on our web site, www.striker.com. It is important you understand all the risks involved with trading, and you should only trade with risk capital. This communication is intended for the sole use of the intended recipient.

About this report The information and links on this website are for informational purposes. Past performance, whether actual or indicated by simulated historical tests of strategies, is not indicative of future results. Striker is a member of the National Futures Association ("NFA"), the Managed Funds Association ("MFA"), and the National Introducing Broker Association ("NIBA"). The trading performance cited throughout our web site is based on actual trading history, unless otherwise noted. The starting account balance is based on the system developer recommendation. Striker tracks actual performance by recording and maintaining each trade ticket for each system generated. The performance information assumes that no additions or withdrawals have been made. The rate of return for all systems disclosed in the Striker Report is cumulative from the day the system actually started trading at Striker. We maintain a "life" track for all 3rd party systems. We do not necessarily base our records on any particular client account. No one particular customer has achieved these results. The percentage returns reflect inclusion of commissions and fees. The actual percentage gains/losses experienced by investors will vary depending on many factors, including, but not limited to: starting account balances, market behavior, the duration and extent of investor participation (whether or not a client takes all signals for a system) in the specified system and money management techniques.

Striker is a revolutionary concept in action: an international, professional team of brokers dedicated to trading only for clients. It bears repeating: unlike most other brokers, Striker does NOT trade futures for itself or any of its employees. This policy has been in place from the start in order to guarantee that our entire focus remains on the interests of our clientele. Striker believes that when brokers are allowed to trade for themselves (or have in-house trading practices) there is a strong potential for conflict of interest, as the broker may place more importance on his own trading activities (or that of his firm's) than on those of his clients. Finally, Striker has no financial ties to system developers, so there no bias or pressure on how we report the actual trading results posted in our client section. This section is designed specifically for Striker's clients, so they may audit their results on a daily, weekly, monthly, or annual basis.
